Waterproof Safety Boots
Waterproof safety boots keep water out across the whole boot, not just the upper, which makes them the right choice for groundwork, agriculture, drainage, forestry and any trade that spends the day outdoors. Under EN ISO 20345:2022 the fully waterproof classes are marked S6 and S7, and you will also see the WR (water resistant whole footwear) symbol. Every style here is certified to EN ISO 20345 with a 200 joule toecap, across composite and steel protection.
An S3 boot resists water through the upper, but an S7 boot is tested waterproof across the entire construction. If you stand in water or work in persistent wet, look for the S7 or WR marking. We hold 199 waterproof styles ready to order.
Every boot in this collection carries a 200 joule protective toecap and independent EN ISO 20345 certification. Many also add a penetration-resistant midsole (P), cold insulation (CI) and a heat-resistant outsole (HRO) for outdoor and groundwork conditions.
Choose lightweight non-metallic composite for thermal comfort and metal-detector environments, or steel for heavy-duty wear. Both meet the same impact and compression ratings, so the decision comes down to weight, temperature and your worksite rules.
Waterproofing only helps if you stay upright, so these boots pair sealed construction with deep cleated, slip-resistant outsoles tested to the SR standard. That combination is what suits them to mud, wet concrete and greasy surfaces.

How to choose waterproof safety boots
The key thing to understand is the difference between water-resistant and waterproof. An S2 or S3 boot is tested so the upper resists water for a set time, which is fine for showers and damp floors. A fully waterproof S6 or S7 boot, or any boot carrying the WR symbol, is tested with the whole boot submerged, so it suits standing water and all-day outdoor wet. Wellingtons and S5 rubber boots are waterproof by construction and sit in their own category.
After waterproofing, match the rest of the boot to your hazards: penetration resistance (P) for sharp debris, cold insulation (CI) for outdoor winter work, and a cleated SR outsole for grip. Our size and fit guide walks through every rating and how fit varies across brands. Most waterproof work boots qualify for VAT relief when bought by an individual for work use, which we apply automatically where eligible, and our VAT-free safety boots page explains the rules.
