The DeWalt Newark is the brand's waterproof hiker: a full grain leather upper over a waterproof and breathable membrane lining, a steel toecap and steel midsole, a TPU dual density outsole and a TPU heel support system. It comes in Black and Brown, and it is the DeWalt boot to choose when the ground is wet, the weather is worse, and you need the boot to stay dry from the first hour to the last.
A waterproof and breathable membrane inner lining keeps water out and lets sweat through, so the boot stays dry inside as well as out.

A waterproof boot and a water-resistant boot are not the same thing, and the Newark is the former. Water-resistant leather sheds rain for a while and then soaks; a sealed membrane lining bonded inside the boot keeps water out for as long as the upper is intact, while still letting moisture from your foot escape. DeWalt fits that membrane inside a full grain leather upper on the Newark, which is why it is the boot we point people to for groundwork, drainage, fencing, agricultural and winter site work, where standing water and mud are the normal state of the ground rather than the exception.
Protection is steel at both ends: a steel toecap and a steel midsole, tested under EN ISO 20345, with an anti-scuff guard over the toe where hikers wear first. The TPU dual density outsole pairs a softer cushioning layer with a harder wearing tread, and the TPU heel support system holds the rearfoot steady on uneven ground. It comes in Black and Brown full grain leather with a padded tongue and collar and a PU comfort insole.
